Candidates for the DP-900 should have a solid understanding of key data concepts and how Microsoft Azure data services may be used to accomplish them. This exam is for students who are just getting started with cloud data.

Candidates should be familiar with the concepts of relational and non-relational data and transactional and analytical data workloads. Other Azure role-based certifications, such as Azure Database Administrator Associate and Azure Data Engineer Associate, can be used to prepare for Azure Data Fundamentals, although it is not a requirement for any of them.

This is a prerequisite for Microsoft Azure Database Engineer. Validating foundational level knowledge would be a useful first step. This is one of the important Microsoft certifications.
