Realme seems to be preparing for its first big smartphone launch of 2025. The Realme 16 Pro series has become the focus of several leaks, even though the company has not officially introduced the phones. Tipsters are already sharing what buyers can expect from the Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro+.
India launch likely on 6 January
Tipster Sanju Choudhary claims the Realme 16 Pro lineup will arrive in India on 6 January. If correct, this puts the launch just ahead of Realmeās usual early year product cycle. He also mentions that the base Realme 16 Pro could start with an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, making it the most affordable entry in the series.
Since Realme has not confirmed any of this, these details should still be viewed as early leaks.
Variants and colours leaked
Another leak from X user Anvin (@ZionsAnvin) suggests that the Realme 16 Pro may be offered in four RAM and storage combinations:
8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB.
The phone is also expected to launch in grey, gold and purple colour options. This would be a shift from the Realme 15 Proās Flowing Silver, Silk Purple and Velvet Green finishes.
Display and performance expectations
Leaks hint that the Realme 16 Pro will feature a 6.78 inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. If this turns out to be accurate, it will offer the same ultra smooth performance as the previous 15 Pro while keeping Realmeās focus on vibrant and fluid visuals.
A major camera upgrade?
The camera setup may see a big jump this year. Rumours point to a dual rear camera system led by a 200 megapixel main sensor along with an 8 megapixel secondary lens. This would be a big upgrade over the 15 Proās dual 50 megapixel configuration.
A 50 megapixel front camera is also expected, which should result in clearer selfies and sharper video call quality.
Slim design with a large battery
Early leaks suggest the Realme 16 Pro might measure 162.6 x 77.6 x 7.75mm and weigh around 192g. If these numbers are accurate, the phone could offer a slim and balanced feel without compromising on battery capacity.
More details are likely to surface as the rumoured launch date approaches.
