If 2025 felt packed with new SUV launches, the momentum is set to continue into the new year. As we step into 2026, the Indian SUV market will kick things off with five important launches scheduled for January itself. From refreshed bestsellers to long-awaited comebacks, here is a look at the SUVs expected to debut early next year.
1. Mahindra XUV 7XO Launch
The facelifted version of Mahindraās flagship SUV is set to be unveiled on January 5. Now renamed as the XUV 7XO, this updated ICE model will bring noticeable changes to the exterior along with several technology upgrades inside the cabin. One of the highlights will be the introduction of Mahindraās triple-screen setup, first seen on the XEV 9e and 9S electric SUVs. This makes the XUV 7XO the brandās first petrol-diesel SUV to feature this layout.
2. Tata Harrier Petrol Price Announcement
Tata Motors will announce the official pricing for the Harrier petrol on January 5. The model is part of Tataās broader push to strengthen its petrol engine portfolio across multiple SUV segments. While technical specifications have already been revealed, the price announcement will finally position the Harrier petrol against key rivals in the segment.
3. Nissan Gravite Launch
Nissan India is preparing to launch the Gravite, a new 7-seater MPV, in early January 2026. This model is part of Nissanās three-SUV strategy for the Indian market and marks the brandās entry into the affordable MPV space. Following the Gravite, Nissan is also expected to introduce its Tekton C-segment SUV later in the year.
4. Tata Safari Petrol Price Announcement
Alongside the Harrier, Tata Motors will also reveal the petrol pricing for the Safari on January 5. Until now, the Safari has only been available with a diesel engine. The petrol version will allow it to compete more effectively with rivals that already offer both petrol and diesel options.
5. Renault Duster New-Generation Launch
Among all the January launches, the new-generation Renault Duster is easily the most awaited. Scheduled to arrive on January 26, the C-segment SUV will go up against popular rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The Duster returns to a segment it helped establish in its early days, making this comeback especially significant.
